The Moon Silver
The Moon Silver is an eerie, atmospheric exploration of a mysterious remote compound. The wind rakes dust across the barren landscape with the shrouded forms of a few teetering structures but shadows in the distance. You wander; maybe find a hut, some books, some furniture, a vault, a few flickering lights are scattered about. The traces of a few inhabitants, now missing, punctuate the spaces. Piecing together the incomplete history of this broken community asks you to delve further into increasingly isolated and tense spaces. Sometimes you’re given scraps of text, other times it is the architecture that tells the story. What you learn only destabilizes the space further. Is it an abandoned military base? The home of a religious cult? A village taken by aliens? Or dismal fever dream? Repurposing the conventions of suspense and horror into a more ambient, minimal modality, the Moon Silver focuses our attention on the rust, dirt, and light to make us intimate with the way the unknown defines so much of human life.
