Games as Literature is a YouTube channel that specializes in applying traditional literary analysis to videogames as texts. Using a fun, internet-friendly, but intellectually rigorous approach, Sam Gronseth plays professor and leverages his academic work to help viewers learn to engage with videogames as an art form worthy of serious study. There are a number of different kinds of videos that he makes, including short commentaries, long-form analysis of specific canonical works, and the ongoing Games as Literature 101 series that takes the form of a college introduction seminar. This middle-state series is particularly useful for teachers, institutions, or individuals that want to introduce students or fans to ways of critically thinking about videogames as works of literature. One particularly notable video is his exploration of how art games build meaning from simplification
